On March 16 next Tuesday we will be holding a post everlasting ceremony for the legion member that have passed in the last year. Meal at 6:00 or 6:30 ceremony at 7:00.

This Sunday, March 14th, Guest speaker Senator Charles Grassley, State Representative Dawn Pettengill and local elected officials will be at a special Friend Day Service. The church is located at 911 D Ave. in Vinton, just north of the former West School.  Everyone is welcome.

  Spring is on the way, if you want to learn about planting and managing native grasses and flowers, the Benton County IRVM (Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management) Committee will be hosting a meeting at 7:00 P.M., March 18, 2010 at the Farmer Savings Bank and Trust, 401 B Ave,(use west door).  The Iowa Coordinator of County IRVM programs, Kirk Henderson will be the featured speaker.

By making the top 100 last month in the Pepsi voting and not winning we are automatically in the competition again this month (March). So please start voting for this month and remember you can vote each day. Garrison Fun DaysJuly 10A fundraiser event for the Garrison Emergency Services will be held on July 10. From noon until 5:00 p.m. there will be a Crafts Street Fair and a car show with 30+ booths available. Early Arts Study Club will meet Monday, June 21, at 1:30 PM, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, with Nancy Lausar, hostess. Claudette Alpers will present the program on Clocks and Watches.
